On December 23, 2025, Healing in Harmony, in partnership with Blasert Force 568 Inc., continued its relief operations in Northern Cebu, bringing much-needed Christmas packages to 104 families and 37 children in Sitio Pitogo, Poblacion, Borbon, Cebu.
Despite the heat, residents from remote areas gathered not only to receive aid but also to participate in important community lectures, just standing and squatting (no chairs).
Community Education and Awareness
PSSgt. Erwin Pepito, Community Relations Officer of the Borbon Municipal Police Station, led discussions on anti-illegal drugs and anti-terrorism awareness.
PCpl. Mary Joy Daligdig, from the Violence Against Women & Children Desk, followed with lectures addressing rape, child abuse, and other family-related crimes.
These sessions emphasized the importance of safety, vigilance, and community responsibility, ensuring that the relief effort also served as a platform for education and empowerment.
Drug Abuse Prevention Education
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) complemented the PNP’s initiatives with Drug Abuse Prevention Education (DAPE) lectures. These were conducted by Mr. Achilles “Kit” Coronel, Founder and Chairman of Blasert Force 568 Inc., Vice President of the Borbon Municipal Police Advisory Council, and Member of the Cebu City Police Office -Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development. His talk reinforced the community’s role in preventing drug abuse and supporting holistic development.
Distribution of Christmas Relief Packages
By midday, the distribution of relief goods began. Each package included: Rice, Canned goods, Noodles, Spaghetti combo, Hotdogs, Hygiene kits & Children’s Joy packages. In addition, the PNP through the Borbon LGU distributed slippers for children and water jugs as special prizes for those who were able to answer random questions during the program.
Gratitude and Partnership
This initiative was made possible through the generous support of Healing in Harmony—a coalition of 24 New York-based organizations. Special thanks go to Mr. Flo Coronel, officer of Hijos de Davao, Uniffied Inc., and Knights of Rizal – District 30 Chapter, who helped facilitate the support from Healing in Harmony.
Together, these efforts brought not only nourishment and joy but also education and empowerment to families in Borbon, making the Christmas season brighter and more meaningful. Their contributions ensured that families in Borbon experienced the warmth of Christmas through both education and relief.
